The aim of our work with the youngest members of our school community is to support children’s discovery and learning. We collaborate with the children to help them process their queries. As they are challenged to think more deeply, we delight in their intuitive responses.

Through our practice of creating contexts for learning, observing, interpreting and documenting we develop a greater understanding of the many concepts children are exposed to, and equally, how they build further knowledge of them. The children are viewed as capable learners who approach us ready to share the pools of experience and unique reflections on life they bring to us each day.

Learning is a journey towards understanding and as educators, we have the great privilege of guiding your children on that journey.

At CIS, our core business is educating the heart and mind of every boy and girl and nurturing inquiry. Through co-education, we break gender stereotypes. Girls learn to value the healthy risk-taking behaviors, sense of competitiveness, and humor that boys bring to the learning environment. Boys learn to value the strong work ethic and the importance of building relationships that girls bring to the learning environment. Every child learns that they are unique and we are determined that they become the best versions of themselves. It is when that occurs that we have reached our goal of transformative education.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Collaboration is encouraged at CIS, as your child connects closely with both boys and girls. Children gain fresh intellectual and social perspectives from each other as well as the confidence to express themselves in a highly supportive environment. We offer opportunities for students of diverse abilities and learning styles.

We encourage students of both genders to be leaders with a global perspective, and all students have male and female role models in leadership positions, and the chance to make friends of both genders.
